Soul Airline's management team decided to retire its CRJ1000, which the airline has been using 6 of. This strategic move marks a significant step forward in the airline's commitment to enhancing passenger experience and operational efficiency. The CRJ1000 has been a reliable workhorse for Soul Airline, serving our regional and domestic flights from almost the beginning of the airline with distinction. It has connected cities with low demand and short runways, such as the Gimpo—Yeosu, Gimpo—Sacheon, and Gimhae—Wonju routes, and we are grateful for its service. However, as part of our commitment to becoming a more green and efficient airline, we have decided to retire the CRJ1000 and replace it with more new aircraft. The last flight of CRJ1000 will be hosted on August 10th, a route between Gimpo Airport and Yeosu Airport. The airline has considered various aircraft types, including the Airbus A220-100, Embraer E2 Family, A319neo, and Boeing 737 MAX 7, as a replacement for the CRJ1000. However, among the candidates, the airline chose the A220-100 because it currently operates the A220-300 and will best replace the CRJ1000 for its current circumstances. The A220-100 offers unmatched passenger comfort, reduced noise levels, and significant fuel efficiency improvements, aligning with our sustainability goals. The airline ordered ten confirmed orders and another ten potential aircraft orders. In addition to introducing the A220-100 aircraft, the airline is also expanding the fleet size of the A220-300, which currently operates 30 of the models.
